2" silver plate pin with Celtic knot drops. Comes in 3.75 x 5.25" clear-top white gift box with the "I Am a Safe Place" poem.
Our "I Am a Safe Place" pin is not a fashion statement, it is not a political statement....it is a human rights statement. It represents solidarity with people who have suffered racism, sexism, xenophobia, Islam phobia and homophobia amongst other manifestations of bigotry. It stands for the wounded, those who have suffered abuse, and all those who have been the target of hatred and violence.
Side note: We first introduced this pin for a limited time as a fundraiser to help organizations that fight hatred in all its forms, it was a huge success. People loved the design, what it stood for, and the fundraising component. When our fundraiser ended and we removed the "I am a safe place" pin and poem from our website, it was never meant to be a permanent item.
Recently I received a call from a customer who bought several and she asked us to please make the "I am a safe place" pin and poem available on our website as many of the women who she gave it to loved it and what it stood for and wanted to give the pin to their friends. So we decided to reactivate the "I am a safe place" pin on our website, and also to continue to give a portion of the profits from the sale of each pin to an organization(s) whose mission is to fight hatred, fight for human rights, or improve the standard of living for all people.
I Am a Safe Place
I am a safe place....
If you wear a hijab, I’ll walk with you.
If you’re a person of color, I will
stand with you.
If you’re a person with disabilities,
I will support you.
If you’re an immigrant, I will find
If you’re a refugee, I will welcome you.
If you’re a veteran, I will take up
If you’re LGBTQ, I will not say
you are broken.
If you’re gay, I will accept you.
If you’re a survivor, I will believe you.
If you’re a woman, I will respect you.
If you need a safe place, I am here.
